Alek is an Associate Research Scientist at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center and the University of Maryland specializing in polar sea ice variability. He is a member of NASA’s Operation IceBridge and ICESat-2 and is interested in constraining current sea ice variability using remote sensing data and models, improving forecasts and long-term projections of sea ice, and better understanding the role of sea ice and the polar oceans in our climate system.
